The chairs of the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA) and the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) have committed to enhancing coordination between the two boards as they look to implement their respective sustainability-related standards.
These commitments were made at summit convened in Paris earlier this month on the back of a ‘call to action’ from IFAC CEO Lee White last December.
Both bodies also committed to improving the transparency and effectiveness of their standard-setting due processes.
IAASB chair Tom Seidenstein said in a statement: “Ever deepening engagement with IAASB stakeholders and coordination with IESBA are leading strategic objectives of the IAASB, and the summit provided valuable recommendations in both of those areas.”
